Totals, targets and your own threshold

A total should make its inputs and rules visible.

Exact counted time

The core record uses integer minutes. For each valid shift, subtract valid unpaid breaks from the date-and-time span; paid breaks remain included. Add net shift minutes into the day and period containing each shift’s start date. A display in decimal hours is calculated from that minute total.

Drafts and errors

An unfinished or invalid shift cannot contribute a final duration. If a completed subtotal is shown, it must be labeled as such and identify records still needing attention. A saved draft is not a completed card, and a successful local save does not change that distinction.

Targets and remaining work

Remaining work = chosen target − completed work

The target is entered by you. If completed work has reached or passed it, the result should state that condition rather than treating a negative remainder as work to perform. The clock-out tool adds remaining counted work and planned unpaid breaks to a start date and time. Paid breaks are not added again.

Regular and extra hours

An optional user threshold splits a completed total for your own comparison. At a total of 42:30 and threshold of 40:00, the split is 40:00 regular plus 02:30 extra. The tool does not choose a legal overtime rule, premium or jurisdiction.

Simple amount estimate

The optional amount estimate multiplies counted hours by your entered rate in your chosen currency. At 38.25 hours and a rate of 20.00, the result is 765.00. Taxes, premiums and payroll rules are not included. It is an arithmetic estimate, not an invoice, payment or determination of wages owed.
