Clock-out time calculator
Plan a finish time from the work still needed.
Work from the goal to the clock
- Choose the target duration for the period.
- Enter the hours completed before the current shift.
- Enter this shift’s start date and time.
- Allow for planned unpaid breaks and review the suggested finish date and time.
A complete example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Period target, chosen by you | 40:00 |
| Already completed | 32:30 |
| Work remaining | 07:30 |
| Shift starts | October 26, 2026, 09:00 |
| Expected unpaid break | 00:30 |
| Suggested finish | October 26, 2026, 17:00 |
A paid 15-minute break is already included in the counted work allowance. It does not move this suggested finish to 17:15.
Review the result when plans change
The result uses your inputs; it does not track the shift as it happens. If an unpaid break becomes longer or more work has already been completed, update the corresponding field. A result after midnight must show the next date, not only a familiar-looking clock time.
The time model has a boundary
This is a wall-clock plan. It does not apply timezone offsets or daylight-saving adjustments, and it does not determine whether a schedule complies with employment rules. Keep the original time-card record separately from a planning estimate.
Frequently asked questions
Why does an unpaid break move the finish time later?
It takes clock time without contributing to counted work. The finish estimate adds remaining work and the planned unpaid duration to the selected start.
Can the result fall on the following date?
Yes. The result includes its date as well as its clock time. A calculation passing midnight must retain that later date.
