Set the week before adding shifts
Choose the first date and the day your reporting week starts. A weekly card covers seven calendar dates. Check the displayed range before importing records: a Sunday-to-Saturday card and a Monday-to-Sunday card can place the same Sunday night shift in different labeled weeks.
Changing the selected reporting period changes the view, not the dates stored in your saved projects. Keep each shift’s own start and end dates accurate, even when its end falls outside the displayed week.
A week you can check
| Start day | Counted duration |
|---|---|
| Monday | 08:00 |
| Tuesday, two shifts | 08:15 |
| Wednesday, overnight | 07:30 |
| Thursday | 07:00 |
| Friday | 07:30 |
| Saturday and Sunday | 00:00 |
| Week total | 38:15 |
The six shift spans total 40:45. Unpaid breaks total 02:30, leaving 38:15 or 38.25 decimal hours. A 00:15 paid break is already included and is not added again.
An overnight shift belongs to its start day
A shift starting Sunday at 22:00 and ending Monday at 06:00 remains assigned to Sunday. With a 30-minute unpaid break it contributes 07:30 to the week containing that Sunday. The next Monday-start week receives no duplicate contribution. This is MinuteFolio’s reporting convention, not a payroll-law rule.
Check the weekly copy
- Review the start and end dates of every overnight row.
- Look for incomplete drafts before using the final total.
- Check paid and unpaid break labels separately.
- Keep a JSON backup if you will edit the record again.
Frequently asked questions
Which week receives a Sunday night shift?
The week containing the Sunday start date receives the whole completed shift. Its Monday end date remains visible, and the following week does not receive a duplicate contribution.
Will changing the selected week delete other shifts?
No. The period changes the reporting view. Shifts outside its selected dates stay in the project and can be reviewed under their own dates.
